Hiroshima A Bomb Dome

Here are some photos I took from the A-Bomb dome. The memorial is in the middle of Hiroshima, and is one of the very few structures that have been preserved from the explosion in 1945.

Although the nearby bridge was targeted, the bomb dropped off target by a couple of hundred meters, very close to a zone directly above this building.

This building was the prefectural promotional hall.

The target was the intersection of the bridge to the left of the photo.

There are many paper cranes in the area, in memory of the children affected from the bomb.

A Peace Memorial park has been built around the area, as well as a museum filled with items and stories of those people affected from the bomb. It was amazing to read the destruction that had happened and to see how much the city had recovered.
