Ebisu – Day 2

Posted: September 1, 2011 by stinkypoo31 in Uncategorized

Okay, so I didn’t update the blog while I was in Japan as I was hoping but nevermind, I have photos of what we had done. Expect to see frequent updates about our most recent trip in the next few weeks.

To begin, I sticker tuned my car in the morning. I was expecting to see a lot more stickers, spray paint and duct tape on more of the drift cars. However most matsuri cars were left standard with some stickers/tape appearing on the rear windows.

There were a number of people attending the circuit for Practise.

This guy was in a group of four who had travelled to Ebisu for the day.

Another member of their group in this very nice R34.

He was impressive considering the cleanliness of his car.

Not sure which one of the Vic guys was driving this car.

Nic and Rohan were still having issues starting the car. They had tried some other batteries supplied by Power Vehicles and were told it was a starter issue earlier in the day.

Some local Japanese guys from a Nissan Dealership also helped with the rolling start. His advice was that it was more likely a Battery issue. We ended up testing it with my battery and this was the case.

Drift Land is a great course for beginners.

This R33 looked like it had a huge amount of power.

The driver did not appear very confident until they were sideways, usually initiating with a handbrake, but it bellowed so much smoke after coming on the power.

We returned to the Powervehicles pit area at the end of the day to see the guys working away at the S15eighty.

They were fitting knuckles and trying to find a solution for the leaking turbo gasket.

In the end, they decided to just weld the turbo on so they don’t require a turbo gasket.

Suenaga was intrigued.

Such a great view from the PowerVehicles pit area.

Just needs a beer.

Pidwell’s 90 still going strong.
