Testing the new camera out at the Skidpan

I recently bought a new DSLR camera for our up coming trip to Japan. With the extra megapixles, I am hoping to be able to crop images without affecting the quality too much. I went out and took a couple of shots to test the camera out and take it for a quick shake down.

Pat was out there tearing it up in his R34 GTT running E85.

With the new setup, he is able to put out around double factory power for the car.

Another stand out was this Gemini. Under powered but showed good car control.

You see a lot more R34’s with the price of the car dropping these last few years.

And thrown around aggressively.

Photobucket

Too aggressively infact. Dirt drops are not allowed at the only facility in Canberra that allows drifting.

Jono from NissanSilvia.com was very talented on the track.

Definitely got that drift look with the multi-coloured panels.

The two commodore drivers were struggling with car control. It seemed they only knew how to keep their foot flat to the floor, spinning constantly into donuts but eventually they did start to ease off the pedal.

A rare sight to see a Hilux drifting.

He was doing very well and was also managing to use the weight for transitions.

The spectators seating was almost at full capacity.

A fun day was had by everyone, even with the gloomy weather.
