Supra Club Skid/Drift Day

Posted: October 27, 2009 by stinkypoo31 in Uncategorized

Last weekend I headed out to the ACT Supra Club’s Skid/Drift day. In Canberra (and probably most of NSW) it is rare to see any Supra at a track event, and ever rare to see drifting. The day was run with the assistance of Derek from FifthGear Motorsport out at the Sutton Driver Training Complex.

I was hoping to take some photos of some Supra’s but only three had turned that day. Still I managed to take some photos and get some more practise with the camera.

Teon from the ACT Supra Club was the organisor for the day and was drifting very well.

This 200sx looked like he was just learning to get sideways and by practising powering out of corners.

I think the driver in the photo below was swapping between cars in the morning and was doing really well in anything he drove.

Noise is becoming a problem at this track as well. This is Derek’s prototype of a noise suppression device. He is planning on making a few more to suite different types of cars. Very smart idea!

I went for a ride with Adrian in his very wide looking MX5 to try and take some photos from inside the car.

I tried to get some photos from the inside, but I don’t think my lens was wide enough.

Another interesting choice of car was this Manga. I have seen it out a few times at mainly hill climbs and circuit. Derek did take it out for a spin at the end of the morning session.

The afternoon session had a few 4WD cars which included a WRX, Lancer Evo and Stagea.

A few more photos are located HERE but since I was playing with the camera settings I didn’t end up with many to post.
